Janna Mexico Sterling Santa Christmas Tree Ornament. Very Hard To Find. This vintage Janna, Taxco, Mexico hand made sterling silver Christmas ornament is a stunning take on the jolly Santa Claus face. One of her early Christmas ornaments, it is a solid silver sheet, pierced ornament featuring Santa. It is marked on the back TS-162, Mexico 925. This hard to find treasure measures 2 3/4 inches tall, not including the large pendant style bale. Janna Thomas was a New York City designer whose workshop in Taxco employed skilled silversmiths trained under Spratling and Antonio to produce her exclusive designs. Retail customers for Janna’s silver included Tiffany’s, among others. Janna’s workshop operated from 1965 until her death in 1980. Since this is a vintage ornament it may display minute scratches or wear consistent with polishing and use. There aren’t very many of these for sale anywhere. There is no original box, pouch or romance card. As with all vintage silver, may require proper polishing upon receipt depending on your preferences.
